GRP (glass reinforced plastic, or fibreglass) is the go-to material when an element must be very light, moulded into complex shapes, or made in one large piece.
How GRP is made
A gelcoat face is applied to the mould, followed by layers of glass fibre mat or woven roving set in polyester resin. The front face takes the mould finish.
Common GRP applications
- Domes and cupolas
- Canopies and shades
- Façade cladding and lining
- Planters and pergolas
- Custom decorative and technical components
GRP repair and modification
GRP can be repaired, patched and re-gelcoated on site, which makes it practical for refurbishment and modification work.
